**Duties**:
Join our dynamic Human Resources team under the guidance of our HR Manager This role offers a unique opportunity to provide multi-functional support across various HR activities, including staffing, health and safety, training, tracking, and testing. You’ll be the go-to person for procedural advice and information, ensuring our information systems and records are up-to-date and accurate.

In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with the HR team, playing a crucial role in supporting our field unit’s HR programs and regularly liaising with management. Additionally, you’ll provide essential administrative support to the HR team as needed.

**Intent of the process**:
This selection process will be used to fill one (1) full-time term employment opportunity in Mainland Nova Scotia Field Unit for one (1) year with possibility of extension.

The position is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia or Maitland Bridge, Nova Scotia.

**Information you must provide**:
Your résumé.
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience relevant to the position being staffed.

Degree equivalency
- Recent experience* providing administrative support ** for program delivery or managerial support in a Human Resources or other service-related office environment.
- Recent*experience in the use of databases and software packages such as Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, or equivalent software(s).
- Recent is defined within the last 3 years.

**Administrative support is defined as, but not limited to preparing documents, drafting, editing, formatting, revising correspondence or reports, maintaining electronic files, scheduling and organizing meetings and virtual meetings, managing agendas and other related duties.
- Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of Human Resources disciplines (ie. staffing, training, health & safety).
- Ability to plan, organize, problem solve, and prioritize various responsibilities and tasks under the pressure of deadlines;
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- Ability to be highly organized and detail oriented;
- Ability to think strategically and proactively identify issues and solutions;
- Ability to prepare, proofread, revise and format various documents;
- Ability to conduct research and gather, assemble and synthetize information from different sources.

- Experience in maintaining, creating and managing files, records, correspondence, and following up and consolidating responses for action items;
- Experience managing internal and external flow of information (dealing with confidential information, responding to requests, meeting deadlines, etc.);
- Experience using human resources systems (such as, but not limited to: PeopleSoft 8.9, Phoenix pay System, Public Service Resourcing System, etc.);
- Experience in compensation and benefits;
- Experience in data entry or administration of the Phoenix payroll system;
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation governing federal jurisdiction workplace;
