**Overview**
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery, including main-line track excavators, dozers, and backhoes, to excavate, move materials, and perform intricate excavation work critical to sewer, watermain, and road construction projects.
- Execute tasks with precision and efficiency, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a secure work environment for both oneself and others on the job site.
- Conduct thorough pre-operation checks and perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Report any mechanical issues or needs for repairs promptly to the maintenance department.
- Collaborate closely with the project team, including site superintendents, project managers, and other equipment operators, to ensure that projects progress on schedule and within budget.
- Take initiative to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced operators, fostering a culture of learning, safety, and operational excellence within the team.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating heavy machinery, including excavators, dozers, and backhoes, with a proven track record of efficiency and safety.
- Prior experience in sewer, watermain, and road construction projects, with a comprehensive understanding of the operational requirements and challenges unique to these sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings accurately.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines applicable to construction sites, with a commitment to upholding these standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, coupled with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, capable of making informed decisions quickly and effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, both in terms of operational skills and safety practices
