Tax and Revenue Administration is responsible for the collection of revenue and the administration of Alberta’s tax, revenue and related benefit programs. The focus of our organization is to ensure a fair, efficient and effective provincial tax and revenue system. **Role Responsibilities**:

**Collections Officer **- TBF Collections provides in-house collections for various Ministries such as Seniors, Community and Social Services and Children and Family Services.

The role is challenging and a great opportunity to work in a collaborative team. We are a friendly and supportive team. We work together in our fast paced environment to support different stakeholder ministries and Albertans. The days go by fast in our office
- Reporting to the Recoveries Supervisor, responsibilities may include and will not be limited to:
- Prepare and send collection letters and/or statement of accounts to debtors in accordance with specified time frames
- work with Administrators when dealing with Bankruptcy and Consumer Proposal orders and credit counsellors on Orderly Payment of Debt
- process revenue in a timely/accurate manner to ensure account balances are current
- manage accounts with Canada Revenue Agency to minimize overpayment situations

Your overall responsibilities will require you to have excellent multi-tasking skills, as it is essential for you to balance the various aspects of the position. You must be a self-motivated team player that uses your communication skills and problem-solving abilities to resolve issues often of a sensitive nature. You must be able to perform detailed work with accuracy, prioritize tasks in accordance with timelines and handle a high volume of work that can involve interruptions.

**Qualifications**:
A High School Diploma and three years’ related experience working in an accounts receivable environment with a focus on customer service is required. Excellent computer skills including full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams is essential. Experience working in a collections environment and managing client portfolios is preferred.

**Assets include**:

- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience with caseloads
- A diploma in Office Administration
- Experience working in a public sector environment (eg. Government of Alberta)

**Equivalencies may be considered**:
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of related education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of related experience for 1 year education
