Utility Locates Field Supervisor

The Locates Field Supervisor plays an important role in conducting investigations, coaching, and leading the Utility Locators in the field.
As a member of the leadership team and an advocate for Health and Safety, the Locate Supervisor will work closely with the Management team and Field Operations to ensure that the company’s mission and guiding principles are adhered to. They will use the Telecon Group SMART values to meet company objectives while providing the necessary support to field operations.
This Supervisor position will be responsible for overseeing and providing coverage for Toronto East. **This includes the area from Yonge Street east to the Pickering border and from Steeles Avenue south to Lake Ontario.**
**YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO**:
- Work with the Regional Manager and the Dispatch team to plan, direct, monitor and adjust (as required) the work activities of Locators and Lead Hands
- Collaborate with QA Specialist to provide technical support, coaching and training to team members including Locators and Lead Hands
- Communicate with representatives from applicable industry stakeholders including Buried Infrastructure Owners, Excavators, Government Agencies, Regulatory Bodies, Project Owners and members of the Public
- Investigate buried infrastructure damage events/claims to determine root cause and corrective action
- Conduct quality assessments of completed locates
- Confined Space Entry (CSE) of manhole when required
- Review and approve Locator weekly timesheets
- Approve all Locator overtime in advance
- Work with Human Capital and the Regional Manager on all personnel matters including recruitment, hiring, disciplining and hiring of team members including Locators and Lead Hands
- Abide by all company policies, procedures and codes of conduct
- Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives
**THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES**:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Locator required
- Previous supervisory experience leading a team in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment is considered an asset
- Excellent communication, time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact with clients, colleagues, and the public
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to frequently travel between job sites
- Full G license and a clean driver's abstract
