The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation is a not-for-profit corporation responsible for the safe and efficient movement of marine traffic through the Canadian Seaway. The Corporation plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the waterway remains a safe and well-managed system to enable ship to transit between Montreal and Lake Erie, through bridges and 13 locks.

The finance group is looking to expand the team

**Role**:

- The Accounting Supervisor coordinates and supervises a support staff team responsible for the organization's cash receipts (receivables), cash payments (payables).**Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership and supervision to a support staff team, including: scheduling of resources, coaching, technical guidance, performance management, development, safety and discipline.
- Coordinate and oversee various accounting functions, including the accounts payable process, year-end accruals, month-end analyses and reporting, cash receipts and processes of the Corporation, GRA and Trust Accounts, and cash flow planning and investments.
- Recommend and maintain processes to ensure proper internal controls and integrity of financial data, and assist the team in continuously improving and maintaining work processes, methods and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with legislated and contractual requirements, corporate policies, professional standards and procedures.
- Respond to enquiries from and establish and maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers, colleagues, management, external agencies, suppliers and contractors.
- Responsible for the SAP Controlling (CO) module, including approving security and profile changes, upgrades and improvements, testing, instructing and guiding users and Finance Business Analyst as required.

**Experience and knowledge**:

- Minimum of five (5) years related accounting experience, sales and excise tax experience
- 1 to 3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Knowledge of GST/QST/HST, internal controls, accounting procedures, rules, standards and industry best practices

**Education**:

- University degree in Financial Accounting or a related field

**Certifications**:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

**Salary range**:$104,000.00 - $115,000.00
