Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager will create, implement and manage company-wide environmental, occupational health & safety programs. The EHS Manager will provide technical support and be considered the resident expert regarding safety, health, and environmental protection.

**Your core RESPONSIBILITIES include**:
**Safety Leadership**
- Provides leadership and expertise to the North American Supply Chain Operations on health, safety and environmental protection matters
- Determine health and safety goals and strategies for the North American Supply Chain operations, ensuring that they meet all fiscal, strategic and legislative requirements
- Develop best in class health & safety and environmental protection policies and procedures for the North American operations
- Maintain updated emergency response plans for manufacturing, distribution and head office sites; contribution to crisis management and business continuity plans
- Coach management and staff to develop their knowledge, attitude and skills in creating a strong safety culture
- Lead gap assessment, program planning and implementation aimed at integrating health and safety activities into the company's production efforts
- In cooperation with operations, guide company leadership to establish annual health and safety targets and objectives to improve overall safe outcomes, rolling out supporting strategies.
- Promote health and safety leadership amongst employees and senior management through presentations and demonstrated safety leadership.
- Support Managers in the investigation and reporting of health and safety incidents and lead hazard assessments

**People Leadership**
- Manage North American EHS Team, setting direction for programs, leading key activities for team members to be successful in supporting the local manufacturing, distribution and head office locations.
- Ensure regular one on ones, development paths are occurring with staff

**Safety Systems**
- Manage the overall health and safety program, including administering the budget, maintaining applicable documentation, establishing performance measures and analyzing and reporting on health and safety program results and trends.
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety.
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
- Develop policies and priorities in consultation with operations to align with focused health and safety topics.
- Conduct and report on audit findings, monitor progress at operations to complete action plans, and provide assistance as required.
- Participate with operations to conduct investigations and report on serious incidents.
- Ensure that critical learnings from investigations are communicated to all other operations and follow-up to ensure recommendations are implemented.
- Provide EHS expertise for all new projects tasks and change management activities
- Provide proactive emergency planning assistance and incident response support
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory or industry agencies on audits, inspections and disputes to ensure compliance.
- Work collaboratively with People & Culture to ensure safe staff experiences

**Disability Management**
- In collaboration with the People and Culture Team, oversee the return to work process for ill, injured or disabled employees in accordance with the Return to Work Policy. This includes facilitating employee accommodations and complex return to work situations.
- Advise and support EHS Team regarding complex case management and escalated concerns.
- Ensure provincial board reporting requirements are met.
- Respond to provincial board correspondence and enquiries.
- Support Managers with return to work progress: review functional abilities progress, support strategies, identify and eliminate return to work barriers.
- Arrange and attend meetings with return to work services as needed by the board.
- Respond to WSBC/WSIB appeals: case review, case letters, appeal hearings.
- Prepare reports and summaries of workers compensation related information for senior leadership.

**Safety Data Management**
- Oversee myCority safety software management system
- Develop and implement safety data management strategies to support operational needs
