The Manager is a trusted partner who will co-create programs and services designed to support, strengthen and sustain Sinai Health’s internal diversity and inclusion strategies, with particular focus on shared operational oversight for our Systemic Bias and Racism Action Plan.

Reporting into the Director, Organizational Development, Diversity & Wellness, the Manager, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging is a creative and strategic thinker and can work with a wide range of people to develop tactical plans to support transformational change. The Manager is committed to creating a diverse and equitable environment, identifying and addressing barriers to allow individuals to thrive and fully participate in the work environment. The Manager will also be a key participant on the Sinai Health Equity, Diversity and Belonging Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collaborates with all levels of the organization across departments to develop focused and impactful diversity, equity, inclusion anti-racism and anti-oppression policies, procedures and programming, responsive to the needs of the organization
- Works closely with stakeholders to design and deliver training that builds capacity and understanding of diversity, inclusion, equity, cultural competency, anti-racism, anti-oppression
- Contributes to moving forward the initiatives outlined in the Systemic Bias and Racism Action Plan, and actioning results from the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Survey
- Builds relationships and works with stakeholders to develop insight into unique organizational strengths and opportunities; contributes to meaningful change towards a culture of inclusion and belonging
- Works with leaders to support the embedding of diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism and anti-oppression across employee life-cycle, including talent management practices such as recruitment, selection, onboarding, leadership development, recognition, succession planning, and performance management
- Strategizes and operationalizes diversity, inclusion and wellness calendar events
- Provides leadership to and serves on working groups and internal committees i.e. Community of Interest
- Manages and maintains diversity, equity and inclusion analytics and evaluation tools, generates reports for various stakeholders to highlight trends, demonstrates impact of programs and identifies opportunities for continued improvement
- Job Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (equity studies, human rights, sociology, human resources) or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing, developing and successfully implementing policies, programs and curriculums in diversity, equity and inclusion
- Strong knowledge of best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism and anti-oppression and demonstrated experience in leading transformational change
- Skilled at engaging in matters that require sensitivity and empathy across a diverse community; excellent judgement and discretion
- Experience in establishing/maintaining trusting relationships with all levels of staff, including front-line and executives
- Demonstrated experience in group facilitation, facilitating organizational change and transition, team or group dynamics, and organizational assessments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to write briefing notes, reports, organizational communication, presentations and create learning materials to support programs
- Experience developing tools/instruments for assessing diversity, equity, inclusion (e.g. surveys, interview/focus group questions)
- Experience analyzing measures of diversity, equity and inclusion (e.g. surveys, interview/focus group questions) and developing recommendations
- Takes initiative, works proactively, coordinates and manages projects with multiple stakeholders in a complex environment
- Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code, AODA, Occupational Health and Safety Act and relevant case law
