As a valued member of the team, the Health Systems Data Analyst, HIS will play a crucial role in writing reports for cleaning, analysing, interpreting, and displaying data using different approaches and query writing tools. Our data analysis will assist our dynamic team in uncovering key patterns and trends, leading to insights to inform our processes and lead to successful decision-making. This position is pivotal in our transformation of raw data by structuring reports and developing data extraction scripts from multiple data sources.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Work closely with the Manager of Business Intelligence and Analytics and other HIS team members to understand and document report requirements and technical specifications and coordination with appropriate internal and external stakeholders for developing reports for analysis.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain database/system queries.
- Develop and implement report queries from various, data collection systems, and conduct data analytics, and other query/reporting writing strategies.
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs.
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
- Communicate complex information so that it is easy to understand and influences others to act based on the insightful data analysis.

**SKILLS**:

- Thorough understanding of data analytic, report writing and information technology procedures and practices (including version control, and quality assurance practices)
Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc., MS-SQL, PL/SQL, Pig, Oozie, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Access, Excel
- (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Macros, Formulas), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
- Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
- Resilience and ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 5+ years Data Analytics experience or equivalent required
- Certifications like Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or related.
- Experience in data models and reporting packages.
- Ability to analyze large datasets.
- Ability to write comprehensive reports.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving and strong attention to detail.
- Other certification (Lean/Six-Sigma Black Belt, ITIL, IIBA, and Change Management) is an asset.
- Familiarity with healthcare information systems, and/or enterprise architecture an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Suite including MS Project and SharePoint
