**Job Summary**:
Young Adult Peer Leader - Starts September 2023 to August 2024. This position reports to Manager Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention
**General Description of Work**:
The student will work closely with Youth Engagement Specialists, and youth ages 12-18 within the Niagara region. The purpose of this position is to facilitate planning and implementation of youth health promotion activities through REACT’s social media channels.
**Duties and Responsibilities***:
- Work alongside the team to create a plan for social media channels
- Assist in the growth of the brand(REACT) by raising awareness through various social media platforms
- Help plan social media campaigns to reach a wider audience, increase brand awareness
- Manage the social media calendar
- Interact with followers by communicating and answering questions through REACT’s social pages
- Optimizing content, tracking user traffic and assessing user response to different content posted
- Analyzes analytics to gauge the success of accounts
- Understands the overall concept of REACT, including the brand, audience, goals, and all other aspects of REACT.
- Provide suggestions for improving social platforms and internal processes.
- Attend weekly meetings with youth and adults to support and build relationships (in person meetings)
**Qualifications***:
- Must be enrolled at a post-secondary institution
- Education and/or experience in communications, public relations is an asset
- Experience working with youth is an asset Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
- Must have a Police Clearance that allows for working with vulnerable populations
- Ability to travel in a timely manner to locations away from assigned office in order to carry out assigned duties
- Must possess a valid driver's license, provide own transportation for assignments and travel throughout the Niagara Region
