Library Technician

Located in the heart of the Niagara Region - just minutes from one of the world’s most well-known tourism destinations - Niagara College offers more than 130 innovative programs between our campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Since opening its doors in 1967, Niagara College has grown to become a leader in education and training and one of the most enterprising colleges in Canada.

Reporting to the Director, Library and Learning Commons, the part-time library technicians will provide circulation and reference services to students, faculty and staff at Niagara College’s Library and Learning Commons.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- circulating library materials and equipment and answering reference questions
- answering questions about our Learning Commons services: peer tutoring, academic drop ins, test centres, and other academic support services
- providing general information about Niagara College
- tracking questions, keeping statistics
- opening and closing the library on their own and giving direction to student library assistants

**Qualifications**:

- Library technician diploma from an accredited school.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience providing circulation and reference services in a busy environment, preferably academic.
- Proven excellence in delivery of customer service
- Experience using Evergreen ILS is considered an asset.
