**This is a full time Term position of one year.**

**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Director of Advocacy, Training and Development, this position will assist with tasks relating to training throughout the organization. This position will support all locations within Manitoba.

This is a full time role working in a hybrid work environment.

**Qualifications & Requirements**
- Proven problem solving and analytical skills, coupled with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills.
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with relevant computer programs, including Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Experience using Office 365
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
- Previous office experience in the Human Resources field and/or experience in a unionized environment would be considered an asset.
- Must have excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and problem solving abilities and the initiative to follow through on matters independently.
- Must have demonstrated experience in effectively handling a variety of inquiries and communicating with all levels of staff.
- Working knowledge of best practice employment practices and human resource legislation.
- Must have the ability to use discretion and tact when providing information and/or referring questions as appropriate within the organization or to outside agencies.
- Clear Criminal Record Check, Child and Adult Abuse Registry checks

**Education**
- Education or courses in the fields of Learning and Development, Training, Facilitation or Curriculum Development will be considered an asset.
- Successful completion of a Human Resources Management Certificate or related education is preferred.

**Specific Responsibilities**

Training
- Assist the Director of Advocacy, Training and Development with in person training sessions province wide, as needed
- Create training materials such as presentations, reference materials, quizzes and tests
- Assist with the grading of online quizzes and tests

Reports and Audits
- Complete monthly reports and audits on training of all employees
- Identify further opportunities for information gathering and sharing that support training goals of VOI
- Assist the HR department in monthly reports as needed

Advocacy
- Understand, demonstrate and coach VOI employees on the meaning of Advocacy and what it means to be an advocate for the people we support

Administration
- Assists in answering employee inquiries and concerns, forwarding to the correct departments when needed
- Provide back up to other HR team members when sick or away on vacation
- Perform audits and research projects as required

Other
- All other duties as assigned

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $20.35 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
