**Junior Dispatcher/Dispatch Assistant**

The Dispatch Assistant will provide supervision and direction to the driving staff to ensure company goals and objectives are achieved. Dispatch assistant will manage asset utilization and drivers to ensure high delivery of customer service and fleet profitability. Additionally, the DM assists, coaches and mentors drivers with all training and administrative items.

**Reports to Operations Manager**

**Responsibilities**
- Extreme Multi-tasking
- Contacting Drivers to Swap Loads
- Tracking Drivers, Loads, and Receivers
- Dealing with multiple customers and once
- Handling approximately about 45 drivers
- Working with Load Planners, Customer Managers and Service advisors within TFM
- Conflict Resolution
- Negotiating situations to meet expectations of customers and TFM
- Responsible to handle after hours customer service issues and communicate issues to CSR’s
- To analyze operational processes and make recommendations to improve departmental processes and procedures
- Follow all relevant legislation and company policies and procedures
- To represent Trans-Frt McNamara in a professional and courteous manner

**Minimum Qualifications and Skills Requirements**
- Education equivalent to completion of High School
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years in related occupation
- Good keyboarding skills with a minimum of 30 wpm
- Good working knowledge of geography, highway traffic rules and regulations and equipment specifications
- Very dependable and takes ownership of work processes
- Able to function effectively under pressure and as a member of a multidisciplinary team with a minimum of supervision
- Communication skills with the ability to involve people in accepting the accountability for their performance

**Effort**
- Decision making is diversified and complex and work requires the integration of several disciplines
- Initiative - works with general direction and guidance to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and timely - must be able to prioritize and organize with little direction
- Requires sitting in the same location and many interruptions with telephone calls and satellite messages from drivers without choice over long periods which may produce moderate fatigue
- Requires extreme attention and constant alertness to avoid errors where errors in judgment could affect the company and the customer
- Contacts are important and for the purpose of gaining agreement to ensure securing cooperation, acceptance and/or decisions
- Tact and courtesy is required
- Normal pressures for production and completion of work

**Working Conditions**
- Fast paced environment with some deadlines and pressures
- Agreeable working conditions with some exposure to noise, dirt and similar uncomfortable elements

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
