Role:
The Accounts Payable Clerk provides financial and administrative support to the business with responsibilities including acquiring, verifying, and processing invoices, assisting in the reconciliation of accounts, and paying or receiving payment from vendors and customers.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for full cycle accounts payable for multiple companies / branch locations.
- Sorting, coding and 3-way matching of Invoice, PO (purchase orders) and GRN’s (goods receiving documents).
- Payment reconciliations.
- Prepare analysis of accounts.
- Track expenses and process expense reports.
- Follow corporate purchasing policies, procedures, and authority matrix.
- Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.
- Follow-up with various plants, internal departments, and vendors to research and resolve issues and disputes.
- Ensure any urgent issues are escalated and communicated in a timely manner.
- Ensure paperwork is properly organized and filed in a timely fashion.
- Enter and upload invoices into system (Syspro).
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Prepare and perform check runs.
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
- Reporting and filing monthly report.
- Assist with month end closing.
- Provide supporting documentation for approval and audits.
- Maintain accurate historical records.
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
- Various other duties as assigned by management, including reception coverage.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration.
- Ability to work well independently, and collaboratively.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- High degree of organization and time management.
- Quick and accurate data entry skills
- Thrives in a fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
- 2 years experience in an accounting role.
