**Education Level**
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent. Current Facilities Mechanic Certificate of Qualification is required
**Career Level**
3 years of related experience, inclusive of apprenticeship requirements.
**Job Summary**:The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for minor preventative maintenance and servicing to various building systems.
**Primary Job Accountabilities**
- Perform duties of a Facilities Mechanic in Ontario.
- Performs maintenance including cleaning and filter replacement on fan coil units.
- Change filters and filter media in fans or ducting. o Clean and maintain air diffusers.
- Execute preventative maintenance and inspections as per the prescribed schedule and as appropriate to level and training.
- Inspect and document building components for compliance to operating parameters (e.g. Fire extinguishers, drinking fountains, etc.)
**General Accountabilities**
- Operates within established security and safety regulations.
- Remains knowledgeable and current with certificate requirements through participation in courses, instructional seminars and trade shows as required and/or sponsored by the University.
- Communicates with fellow workers, faculty, students, staff and visitors in an appropriate and effective manner.
- In a position of trust, perform job assignments in an efficient and effective manne
