**Overview**:
The Youth Navigator will be responsible for providing direct support to youth and their families, coordinating service plans, completing assessments, and facilitating access to additional programming and community resources. This role operates within the framework of Spoke Services, specifically under The Open Doors Youth Services, focusing on increasing social-emotional learning, fostering connections to family and support networks, and promoting overall well-being. The role will also involve working with community partners and performing various tasks essential to supporting youth in their personal development.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Provide Support for Youth Accessing Services**:

- Triage the needs, resources, and requirements of individual youth.
- Coordinate tailored service plans for youth and young adults, ensuring effective resource connection.
- Complete assessments and referrals for youth and families to ensure access to additional programs and community resources in alignment with FRN Spoke Services.

**Case Management and Navigation**:

- Manage cases by developing individualized plans that align with Child Development & Well-being (CDW) and Social Connections and Supports (SCS) outcomes.
- Utilize formal assessments, such as well-being and resiliency scales, intake forms, goal setting, and client surveys to monitor progress and program impact.
- Support youth in achieving positive physical, social, emotional, and spiritual outcomes through mentoring and life skills training.

**Spoke Services Support**:
**Deliver Spoke Services to both age cohorts**:

- 7 to 13 years: Implement the Youth Support and Mentoring Program, providing comprehensive navigation and mentoring services. Connect youth with vetted community mentors for guidance and natural support.
- 14 to 18 years: Facilitate the Youth Connections Program, engaging youth in workshops, activities, and initiatives aimed at fostering independence, life skills, and social connections.
- Ensure culturally responsive programming, especially for Indigenous, sexually, and gender-diverse, and culturally diverse youth.

**Program Monitoring and Reporting**:

- Track and report on key indicators, including youth engagement, executive functioning development, and crisis intervention needs.
- Ensure that youth and families are connected to community supports and that participants are building resilience and independence.

**Additional Responsibilities**:

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designate to support organizational goals, meet program demands, or respond to emerging needs.

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Current Standard First Aid Certification.
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
- ASIST or suicide intervention training.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention/De-escalation training.
- Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract - 3 years of insured driving
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, and databases.
- Familiarity with rural and remote service delivery barriers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and holistic responses.

**Additional Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated concern for youth in the community, with experience in case management and advocacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of the FRN framework, including child development and social connections outcomes.

**Outcomes & Goals (FRN Alignment)**:

- Youth Development: Increase youth's social and emotional learning and executive functioning through mentoring and support.
- Family Connections: Strengthen youth connections to family and natural supports, reducing isolation and promoting engagement with positive resources.
- Access to Resources: Equip youth and families with the knowledge to access culturally appropriate supports when needed.

**Work Conditions**:
**Physical Environment**:

- Based in Camrose, Alberta, with responsibilities extending to other communities in East Central Alberta.
- Work will be conducted in multiple settings, including The Open Doors office, community centers, schools, and other outreach locations.
- Travel is required to meet with youth and families across the service area; a valid driver’s license is required

**Work Schedule**:

- Full-time, typically 40 hours per week.
- Standard working hours are from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate youth and family schedules or organizational programming and events.
