Reporting to the Manager, Laboratory Services, the MLA works under the supervision of a regulated health professional ( i.e. Senior MLT Quality/POCT, Nurse, Manager Laboratory Services, Integrated Director of Diagnostics) is responsible for performing a variety of routine laboratory duties including specimen collection and handling, electrocardiograms, routine testing (i.e. chemistry, hematology, urinalysis), clerical and support functions in accordance with written policies and established criteria.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum grade 12 or equivalent and two years laboratory training.
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistant/Technician Training Program or equivalent education required.
- Certification as a Laboratory Assistant/Technician with the Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario (MLPAO) or Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- Minimum one year experience as an MLA (preferred)
- Recent ECG experience.
- Ability to work as team player and independently in a fast-paced environment in stressful situations.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to organize time effectively to perform the duties of the position.
- Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.59-$37.26 per hour
