The Director, Financial Systems, is accountable for leading the evolution of CANARIE’s financial systems and their on-going maintenance. They also perform senior accounting and finance tasks.

This is a full-time, permanent position that reports the Chief Financial Officer.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform diagnostic tests and resolve issues to optimize ERP and other financial systems’ performance
- Maximize the effectiveness of the ERP and other financial systems
- Lead cross functional teams as part of the implementation of the ERP and other financial systems
- Provide support and training to end-users
- Prepare process documentation for the ERP and other financial systems
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations that contribute to the strategic direction of the organization
- Design and develop financial reports based on user requirements
- Implement and maintain system-related financial controls
- Travel may occasionally be required
- Other related duties and responsibilities, as required

**What You Bring**:
**Education and Experience**:

- College diploma or university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a suitable combination of education, experience, or other relevant training
- CPA designation in good standing
- Minimum of 10 years of related and progressive work experience in senior finance positions
- Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining financial systems
- Experience managing and implementing ERP solutions
- Experience with financial reporting tools
- Experience working in the technology sector is desirable

**Skills**:

- Ability to analyze complex problems and guide solution development and implementation
- Ability to lead and work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Project management skills are desirable

**Technical Proficiencies**:

- Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and expert level skills with Microsoft Excel
- Extensive expertise in ERP systems and associated reporting tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains is desirable
- Experience with Power BI is desirable
