**About Us**

SNOLAB is an international facility for world-class underground physics research

and has an expanding program in astroparticle physics and underground science.

The facility is located in an air-conditioned class 2000 clean room sited 2 km

underground in the Vale Creighton Mine near Sudbury, Ontario, with a suite of

surface facilities and laboratories. SNOLAB is currently preparing for the next

generation of experiments focusing on neutrino studies, the search for galactic dark

matter, quantum technologies, and underground science.

**The Positions**

The Research Scientist is responsible for conducting high-quality research to further

the SNOLAB experimental program, aligned with the SNOLAB Strategic Plan, and

has several other expected duties. These include:

- collaborating with other scientists in the design, development, operations, and

scientific data analysis of one or more experiments in the SNOLAB program;
- providing support to the SNOLAB scientific community through service work

personnel to deliver on the above expectations, in addition to their own contributions.

Research Scientists are expected to ensure that correct procedures are followed

while providing technical and intellectual direction in the completion of technical

tasks, scientific output, and projects.

1. **Low-Background Science**: Modern experiments that aim to observe rare

phenomena require advanced methods to control and assess background

- Post-doctoral research and/or practical research/laboratory work experience;
- Demonstrated ability to carry out independent research, including the

development and execution of a project, as well as the delivery of results from

that project;
- Demonstrated experience in specific fields or subfields related to the area of

concentration;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as demonstrated by

presentations at conferences and a strong and ongoing record of publications

in relevant journals.

**Salary Range: $77,247 - $122,597**

Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience and includes an attractive

benefits package. Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with
