**About us**

CRC Self Help Inc. a not-for-profit housing organization whose goal is to provide affordable, independent housing in a shared/rooming house setting to low-income single adults in Toronto. As well, to work with residents to develop and build community within the house; and work with the residents within that community to achieve individual and group goals.

**Responsibilities**:
Core Duties:

- _Community Development_: build community within the house and work with the residents within that community to achieve individual and group goals; Provide initial crisis intervention, mediation and conflict resolution as required within the house and community. Collaborate with residents in the selection processes of new residents; in addition to other duties as assigned.
- _Individual Tenant Support_: support tenants with their daily living needs; assist tenants in navigating various social support services available to them; support tenants in maintaining their housing; in addition to any other duties as assigned.
- _Administration: _ record management; fill vacancies through our internal wait list and in collaboration with community agencies; collection of rents; preparation and delivery of letters/notices as needed; afterhours pager management; prepare daily reports on each house in portfolio; in addition to any other duties as assigned.
- _Property Management: _ get to know the physical house well; identify areas of possible maintenance concerns; help tenants in each house to meet preventative maintenance needs; in addition to any other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Social/Community Services education, with three to five years’ experience working with low income, homeless singles and those living with substance abuse and/or mental health.
- Have knowledge of the shared housing model with a broad knowledge of community-based resources and supports along with experience in group facilitation settings.
- Experience working within a not-for-profit, community-based agency is an asset, along with knowledge of Social Housing model, the Residential Tenancies Act and PIPEDA.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Have a strong work ethic that allows you to work/function independently and as a member of a team.

Travel to various properties is required (car not required).
