**Landlord Engagement Worker** -** **Housing Services **(Full Time Permanent)**:
**The Role and Opportunity**:
The Canadian Mental Health Association is looking for a Landlord Engagement Worker for Housing Services Program. A main function of this position will be to actively seek new opportunities for rentals and engaging new landlords. The Landlord Engagement Worker will also assist the Housing Workers and Property Managers when conflict resolution and mediation matters arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing strategies to engage current and new property managers in order to increase CMHA Toronto’s access to market rentals
- Use of a database to track and document landlord engagement efforts
- Assisting all CMHA Toronto housing program to have access to quality units in the private market
- Liaising with all CMHA housing programs to understand the needs of their clients who are seeking housing
- Assisting with recommendations for housing offers in order to increase likelihood of a successful tenancy
- Preserve positive relationships with CMHA’s current long-term landlord relationships
- Create new positive relations with landlords within the City of Toronto
- Provide informal education opportunities on mental health to landlords in order to reduce stigma and increase awareness

SKILLS YOU BRING
- Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in Social Services or an equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Housing Outreach Worker or a similar role
- Experience providing community based direct service to adults with mental illness
- Experience or education in business, sales or real estate will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancy Act and supportive housing
- Familiarity with homeless outreach initiatives and the shelter system
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Strong mediation, problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of landlord tenant issues within CMHA
- Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of addiction, mental health and homelessness
- Demonstrated awareness of the intersection between mental health and racism for homeless individuals
- Demonstrated ability to work effective both independently and within a team
- Ability to foster and maintain relationships with the corporate sector and community agencies
- Ability to communicate in a second language is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Experience working with diverse communities
- ** Required to have a valid Ontario Driver’s License, access to a vehicle and insurance coverage.**

**Salary: $57,928 - $67,118**
