**Position Type**:

- Part-time 10- 15 hrs/wk; Saturday mornings required, one day M-F in office; permanent
- Hybrid flexibility available (in-person for programming required)
- Salary: commensurate upon experience ($19-21/hour)
- Start date: February 20th, 2023

**Reports to**:Community Engagement Coordinator

**Job Summary**:
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about food security and frontline work with people experiencing poverty. The Weekly Community Breakfast Coordinator will oversee Mission Possible’s Power Breakfast Program and provide support to the Community Pantry Program. Power Breakfast is a frontline social service program offering essential food service and much needed support for over 200 residents in the DTES. It is also a point of outreach for Mission Possible’s Employment Readiness Program.

As the program lead, the Breakfast Coordinator will be responsible for the running of this program. They will exercise leadership and supervision skills through working with the Power Breakfast team and managing volunteers. This role also provides opportunities for program development. Most importantly, the Breakfast Coordinator will work with a wonderful team of staff and volunteers looking to make a positive difference in the DTES community.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and oversee the Power Breakfast Program
- Train and supervise Power Breakfast volunteers and the Lead Volunteer
- Work collaboratively with the Kitchen Coach to ensure meals are prepared and served to guests in a dignified manner
- Oversee the cleanup of meals and sanitizing of dishes/equipment and COVID-19 safety practices
- Cultivate a positive team environment
- Promote Mission Possible’s Employment Readiness Program
- Communicate in a timely manner with volunteers, program sponsors, and donors
- Manage volunteer and sponsor scheduling for Power Breakfast
- Ensure a safe environment is maintained at all times for volunteers, breakfast guests, and staff
- Order and pick up program supplies and food donations on a weekly basis for both the Power Breakfast and the Community Pantry programs

**Planning and Strategic Development**:

- Attend weekly meetings with Community Engagement Coordinator
- Attend monthly meeting with the Power Breakfast team
- Attend staff meetings and training offered by Mission Possible, when possible.

**Requirements**:

- Class 5 Driver’s License
- FoodSafe Level 1, Naloxone training, de-escalation training, and First Aid Level C+ certification are not required but are considered assets.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
