**PRIMARY FOCUS**
The Communications Specialist is a key member of the Marketing & Communications division in LutherCare Communities (LCC), partnering with other divisions to achieve organizational priorities and goals utilizing numerous communications strategies. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications (the Director), the Communications Specialist supports strategy by executing divisional plans by developing organizational materials, updates for internal and external audiences, working with cross functional teams to support their initiatives, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction. The Communications Specialist demonstrates divisional expertise to enable an innovative and positive working climate in a resident-first culture. The Communications Specialist works within the division and cross-functionally to support operations in the organization. The Communications Specialist works closely with media sources and other external partners.**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- **Division Support**:
- Support the Director with divisional functions and challenges
- Contribute to developing the strategic direction for the division by influencing and advising on current and emerging issues and trends
- Contribute to initiatives, strategies, and methods to effectively and efficiently support and achieve the division’s operational plans that align to the strategic plan and LCC’s priorities and directives
- Clearly translates organizational vision into strategic and creative communications plans that are results-focused and can be delivered and measured in terms of quality and effectiveness
- Develop and demonstrate leadership capabilities and commitment to the culture of resident-first and continuous learning
**2. Stakeholder Relationship Management**
- Build and maintain effective internal relationships, partnerships and alliances that support strong engagement and cross-functional management throughout the organization
- Build, foster, and maintain effective external & Internal relationships and partnerships
- Foster communication and a healthy relationship with residents, visitors, and families
**3. Position Functions**
- Support the Director to strategically positions ideas to resolve complex problems, to influence audiences, institute culture shifts, and design approaches to various communications strategies
- Champion LCC’s visual identity guidelines and brand
- Support the Director to develop brand and visual identity and ensure compliance
- Support the Director to develop and operationalize the content strategies and editorial processes for the LCC’s major digital and hard copy media channels
- Collect and analyse data to gauge success and improve Marketing & Communications strategies
- Collect, analyze and trend metrics
- Review quality monitoring metrics for the use in efficiency and effectiveness of process improvement
**4. Reporting**
- Prepare reports to the Director using qualitative and quantitative data
- Apprise the Director of portfolio and province-wide operations, developments, and initiatives
- Prepare and deliver reports to ELT, OLT, and management teams in support of a cross-functional team
- Prepare material for presentation to the ELT, internal committees, and external partners including federal and provincial government agencies
- Comply with federal and provincial government reporting requirements
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education**:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field, equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional designation (or near completion) would be considered an asset
- Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable
**Experience**:
- 3+ years working in Communications or media development
- Experience in a multi-stakeholder environment with multiple locations
- Experience working with Federal and Provincial Governments
