The University of British Columbia is seeking an outstanding Immunologist for a postdoctoral position. This is a unique position where the fellow will be employed by the University of British Columbia (UBC). This relationship will present an opportunity to experience collaborative research with leading industry and academic experts.

The Postdoctoral fellow will act as a mentor for graduate students and junior scientists working collaboratively with the academic research team at UBC with the potential to interface with potential industrial sponsors.

**Qualifications**:
- PhD in Immunology, Microbiology (Virology), Cancer Immunology, Cell Biology or other related fields with experience in virology and immunological assays in an academic wet laboratory environment-
- Handling rodents (mice, rats, hamsters), and performing various manipulations on rodents including (but not limited to): injections using various routes (intramuscular, intradermal, intravenous, intramuscular, intraperitoneal), gavage, blood sampling, perfusions, euthanasia, tissue and organ removal.- Working knowledge and experience of cell-culturing, flow-cytometry, tetramer assays, molecular biology techniques, and animal tissue and serum extraction- Bioinformatics background (ideal)- Molecular and cell biology background (ideal)- Self-motivated and works independently- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively- Excellent documentation and organizational skills- Strong verbal and written communication skills

How to Apply

The appointment will initially be one year, extendable depending on funding availability. The salary range will start at $50,000 and will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
