The University of Regina has an exciting opportunity for a **Manager, Donations and Trusts **with a passion for furthering social good to join our team

Leveraging their extensive business experience and knowledge of financial management principles, the successful applicant will play a key role in supporting UA through a range of responsibilities such as managing gift acceptance, financial reconciliation and audit, legal agreements, and operation of a team of advancement services professionals.

**What You’ll Do**:

- **Donation and Trust Management**:This includes developing processes, maintaining data integrity, conducting audits, managing pledge reminders and invoicing, overseeing designations/funds, managing the general ledger configuration, coordinating production of charitable tax receipts, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and university policies, managing award designations/funds and general donation accounts, and resolving and disposing of gifts of security.
- **Compliance and Regulatory Alignment**: You will ensure that gift administration aligns with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and the Income Tax Act regulations, as well as the University’s Donation and Gift Acceptance policy, to maintain the University’s charitable receipting status.
- **Professional Engagement**:You will be entrusted with maintaining an active membership in the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) and pursuing professional development opportunities offered by this organization.
- **Financial Reconciliation and Reporting**:You will be responsible for ensuring accuracy in crediting, facilitating precise reporting to the Board of Governors, tracking donations and expenditures, managing general ledger feeds to Financial Services, auditing online donation information, reconciling financial transactions from various systems, collaborating with units in UA to develop and optimize gift administration, stewardship, and reporting, evaluating systems for improvements, participating in development and implementation, preparing reports for various purposes including financial statements and tax filings, and fulfilling audit report requests.
- **Leading and Management of Staff**: You will be tasked with recruitment, selection, training, development, collaborating with staff to establish clear performance objectives, monitoring overall effectiveness, providing guidance to overcome challenges, fostering a positive, diverse, and inclusive work environment,
- **Risk Management and Compliance Oversight**:Identify, assess and manage risks for donations and trust by formulating, managing, and implementing records and information management policies focusing on donors, donations, trusts, and other funds, ensuring accountability, transparency, and compliance with funding agency restrictions and University of Regina procedures.

Position Requirements

**What You’ll Bring to the Position**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Commerce; and
- Six (6) to eight (8) years of relevant experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Possession of, or active pursuit of, a recognized accounting designation, such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), is an asset.
