D&D Automotive is HIRING an automotive repair Service Manager.

D&D Automotive is a long established, highly respected, full-service passenger vehicle and light truck automotive repair shop located in Quinte West, Ontario. We are one of the busiest repair shops in the Quinte region, boasting the training, tooling, equipment and facility to service today’s sophisticated vehicles.

We are looking for a caring and competent person to fill the critical, fast-paced role of Service Manager. We have built our business on the premise of Caring Repairing. This role will require that the hire be a “face” of the business. It is therefore a vitally important aspect of the job that the earned Caring Repairing reputation carry forward under the thoughtful management of our new Service Manager.

Salary is negotiable based on knowledge, experience and overall value the hire will bring to the role. Expected pay range is between $50,000 and $75,000 annual salary for 40-50 hours of work per week (Mon-Friday, daytime hours). Number of weeks of holidays is also negotiable, but the hire can expect a minimum of 3 weeks holidays after a probation period of 3 months.

Our future Service Manager will have the following experience and qualities:

- Experience in business management
- Experience in automotive or a relatable industry
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience managing a crew of tradespeople an asset
- Experience with record/book keeping an asset
- “Business minded” - strong understanding of job profit/loss
- Physical mobility essential - lots of standing and walking across a large work environment a part of the job
- Self-motivated
- Cheerful
- Conscientious of customers’ needs
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Looking for a career opportunity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL
- Ability to hand-write clearly
- Must have strong organization skills

Our future Service Manager responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Scheduling jobs
- Daily work order preparation
- Timely and effective communication with customers
- Quoting
- Invoicing
- Parts sourcing and ordering
- Directing mechanics to the jobs they should do when they should do them based on jobs’ priority from a working understanding of customers’ needs
- Researching job requirements in advance of their being done to ensure all the right tools and parts available for the job
- Ensuring credits received from suppliers after parts have been returned
- Ensuring timely payments to suppliers
- Identify issues related to productivity and profitability while actively working to rectify the same based on agreed upon strategies
- Keeping a clean work environment
