**ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT**:
The Manager, Internal Audit and Risk will lead the Internal Auditor and the Risk Specialist in developing and executing detailed audit plans that identify and assess risk, evaluate internal controls, identify improvement opportunities and work with business partners to ensure appropriate risk mitigation.

**MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide leadership in developing the direction and priorities of the Internal Audit and Risk Management function
- Further develop risk management framework and recommendations on long term risk management strategy and vision
- Prepare annual internal audit and risk management work plan
- Oversee implementation of an ERM policy and ensure compliance with the policy
- Implement and oversee all risk management training for ONTC
- Liaise with leadership on the identification and assessment of business risks and emerging risks
- Provides expertise and advise to senior executives in the identification, assessment, management and monitoring of key risks
- Lead the execution of assigned engagements of the internal audit plan, including the establishment of objectives and scope, the documentation of work programs and testing results, the understanding of the capabilities of the ONTC to action on observations and the communication of engagement results with applicable conclusions and recommendations to the Director for review
- Accountable to prepare and present findings and recommendations of audits to Audit, Finance and Risk Management sub-committee of the Commission
- Work with internal ONTC team to respond and resolve any control deficiencies identified during the annual external audit
- Assess the reliability of information produced and used by ONTC; compliance with legislation and policies; and evaluating the effectiveness of programs, internal control operations and exposure to fraud
- Serve in an advisory capacity during the implementation of new systems, processes, and procedures
- Availability for ad-hoc assignments as requested by ONTC’s Director of Finance, providing advisory-level expertise and high-quality outputs
- Ensure the principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, and competency are applied and upheld
- Employee management, including coaching, training, and providing support to enhance the efforts of the team

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years’ experience in audit and risk assessment
- 3+ years’ in management with internal or operational audit and risk experience
- CPA designation is required
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) is preferred
- Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) certifications are considered assets
- Public sector experience is an asset
- In-depth knowledge of governance, risk and compliance framework (COSO)
- Experience conducting workshops and internal training sessions
- Maintain a positive professional conduct at all times, representing ONTC internally and externally
- Excellent customer service skills and excellent written, verbal and listening skills
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Attention to detail, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Passion for continuous improvement and ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and reprioritize tasks in response to unexpected changes in priorities/requests
- Valid G Driver’s License with ability to travel occasionally
- Must be committed to company health and safety
