Now, on behalf of Centennial College, we are seeking a **Communications and Research Coordinator**. Reporting to the Associate Director, President’s Office, the Communications and Research Coordinator writes, edits, and researches information and material for communications on behalf of the President and President’s Office, in close conjunction with the President, Associate Director, and the Directors of Marketing and Creative Services. The incumbent proofreads, critiques, and helps create a range of Presidential communications, including scripts, correspondence, reports, presentations, and social media posts. They also support projects housed within the Office of the President in support of the Associate Director.

The incumbent acts as a key resource person within the Office of the President, responding to time-sensitive requests for communications and research expertise from the Associate Director and the President as they arise. The incumbent also collaborates with the Associate Director on communications strategies and supports the creation of speeches, key notes, thought pieces, reports, panel discussions, award submissions, various correspondences, meeting scripts, social media material, announcements, press releases, updates, and publications. The incumbent works in a dynamic, fast-paced, and complex environment, requiring a high degree of sensitivity, responsiveness, and strict confidentiality.

**Responsibilities**
- Generates, drafts, edits, coordinates, and produces an eclectic range of high-quality communications in co-creation with the President and Associate Director.
- Coordinates incoming Presidential communications requests, anticipates and keeps abreast of deadlines, and keeps the President apprised of potential communications challenges.
- Works closely with the central communications offices and communication experts across the College to ensure the President’s communication material is accurate, synchronized, comprehensive, and consistent with College messaging.
- Drafts, proofreads, and revises internal communications and external communications.
- Ensures content is tailored to various audiences; is eco-conscious, inclusive, honest, and values-based; and captures the essence of who we are, our unique stories, and the compelling experiences and substantive impact on the communities we serve.
- Supports the Associate Director and the President through the creation and compilation of various materials for internal and external events, meetings, and engagements.
- Collaborates with the Associate Director, President, and other Communications leaders on the development, design, and implementation of integrated cross-platform communications plans and initiatives to position the President as a champion of leadership, organizational identity, and cohesion.
- Uses judgment, tact, discretion, and diplomacy to respond to inquiries on general and sensitive issues from students and staff, as well as the public.
- Interprets and explains policies and procedures and refers student and staff complaints to appropriate areas as instructed by the Associate Director.
- Provides responsible and confidential administrative, scheduling, and logístical support in the absence of the Executive Assistant to the President.

**Qualifications/Experience**

**Education**
- Three (3) year diploma or degree in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Communications, English, or another related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

**Experience**
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in a combination of research and communications at the point of hire, including in developing digital content, with experience working in a fast-paced, executive office environment.
