**Job Posting: Launch Pad Coordinator**

The Launch Pad Coordinator will run the Launch Pad program, which currently operates three mornings per week (Tues - Thurs) from 9:00 A.M. - 11:30 A.M. The Launch Pad is a drop-in program for families with young children to play, sing, and engage in activities that have a positive impact on brain development, fine and gross motor skills, and social skills. The Launch Pad Coordinator will work independently under the direction of the Executive Director.

**Responsibilities**:
The Launch Pad Coordinator will work under the direction of the Executive Director and be the face of one of Kids Can Fly’s most popular front-line programs. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for caregivers and their children
- Planning out an enriching rotation of activities through which caregivers can engage with their children
- Engaging children through music, play, and sensory activities
- Maintaining records for attendance, incidents, and financial transactions
- Working to stay in compliance with the requirements, expectations, and preferences of the host facility (the Grand Erie District School Board)
- Engaging each child individually each day, and making every effort to engage with every caregiver
- Designing, arranging and maintaining a safe, orderly, appealing, and developmentally appropriate program space
- Promoting positive interactions, behaviour guidance and direction with the ongoing supervision of the program, outdoor play area, group, individual and routine activities
- Works directly with the Executive Director on program developments, budget development, and strategic direction of the program, in line with the Kids Can Fly strategic plan

**Qualifications**:

- R.E.C.E. in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Minimum 5 years experience working in the field either at a licensed child care centre, a literacy-based program, or a Kindergarten classroom
- Experience working with children ages 0 - 5
- Strong knowledge of child development
- Ability to perform all duties consistently with excellent reliability
- Experience working with families
- Ability to work autonomously
- Musical skills an asset to ensure the program maintains a musical component
- Ability to create programming options on a budget

**Salary and Benefits**:

- Number of hours: 12-15 hours per week
- Date range: September - June each year
- Rate of pay: $23-$25/hour
- Location of work: 80% on site at Centennial-Grand Woodlands Public School, 20% preparation and meetings
- Timing of work: Tuesday - Thursday 8:30 A.M. - 12 P.M. plus preparation time (flexible timing for errands and remote work) and meetings (in person)
- Employment type: Independent contractor role
- Longevity: Permanent, pending successful probationary period and dependent on maintenance of funding for position
- Professional development: Reasonable costs reimbursed
