The Coordinator, District and Student Records is responsible for overseeing the management of district and student records in accordance with provincial and federal regulations as well as district administrative policies and procedures. The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that records are secure, accessible, and properly disposed of when necessary.

**Specific Accountabilities**
- Develops, implements, and maintains records management policies and procedures for the school and district.
- Manages the digital and paper records systems for the district, including student records, personnel records, and financial records.
- Ensures that records are securely and safely stored, organized, and retrievable when needed, using best practices for records management.
- Oversees the induction of records into digital classification systems.
- Establishes and maintains retention schedules for all district records, ensuring records are disposed of according to legal and/or district requirements.
- Trains staff members on proper records management procedures and provide ongoing support and guidance; including developing and maintaining documentation.
- Collaborates with other departments in the district to ensure consistent and accurate record-keeping practices.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of provincial and federal laws and regulations related to records management.
- Daily liaison with departments and vendors in a records and information management analytical and advisory capacity including maintaining records storage locations regarding inactive/permanent records.
- Supervises staff, permanent and temporary, to ensure smooth operations.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education in records and information management, or a related field
- A FOIP certificate will be considered an asset.

**Experience**
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in records management, preferably with a school district or similar educational setting.
- Experience with electronic records management systems (i.e., eDocs) and familiarity with student records systems preferred, (i.e., PowerSchool, or similar student information systems)
