Responsibilities & Duties
- Read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications
- Prepare final estimates based on needs and company profitability, numerous jobs at a time
- Manage multiple estimation projects at the same time
- Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured.
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff within the organization, on the progress of the project.
- Review the quality of the work completed with the project team regularly to ensure that it meets the project standards.
- Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
- Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date.
- Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for funders as outlined in funding agreements.
- Build and maintain excellent communication and relationships with customers, suppliers and contractors.
- Ability to problem solve
- Valid driver’s license for site visits if necessary
- Provide customer service to walk-in customers, including picking orders from the warehouse
- Perform other duties as necessary to achieve company goals

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3+ years in estimating
- A background in construction estimating is required
- Knowledge of bidding and construction related software is necessary
- Knowledge of key tasks in bid preparations, including bid take offs, pricing/budgeting and closing procedures
- Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
- Strong sales skills
- Eagerness to learn new tasks
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Work as a team and ability to work independently
- Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Microsoft, Excel and QuickBooks software
- Strong written and interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers and team members

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Project management: 3 years (preferred)

- English (preferred)
