This role sits within LBC Tech, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.

The Business Analyst, Payments & Settlements is responsible for overseeing multiple initiatives, performs various technical and procedural analysis, and leads working sessions to gather and document business requirements needed by the stakeholders related to payments, clearing, controls, and reconciliation. The employee will work autonomously and in collaboration with multiple key stakeholders to ensure appropriate analysis is performed, comprehensive requirements are delivered, and proper oversight and management on multiple tasks are covered.

**Responsibilities**:
º Performs technical and/or procedural analysis required as a result of changes related but not limited to payments, clearing, settlement, and controls.

º Research, analyze and document sponsor and/or stakeholder needs or requirements

º Works with management to monitor and manage various department mailboxes and reports to ensure that all items are within required service levels

º Monitors escalated issues and provides progress report to impacted stakeholders or management

º Plan, prepare and conduct effective elicitation sessions with business and IT stakeholders

º Develop plans to manage initiative activities that includes task sequencing, duration, downstream impacts, and dependencies

º Prepare business requirements documentation, develop user stories, process flow models, use cases, and screen mock-ups, lead requirements working sessions to draw out the business needs, to assess downstream impacts, and to ensure requirements are aligned with the business objectives

º Liaise between the business and IT to ensure all stakeholders understand the requirements and any change management activities are considered appropriately

º Validate that the proposed solutions meet the business requirements

º Works with management to address any process or control gaps and makes recommendations on any opportunities for efficiencies

º Communicate regularly with direct manager on the status of each task or initiative

º Develop and maintain a constructive relationship with a network of key stakeholders to provide excellent services on current and future initiatives

º Support the business' post-implementation system verification tasks, including testing and any other business readiness activities

º Provide post-implementation support to the business users' and responsible for impact and root cause analysis of issues and defects, where required

º Represents the team in various key initiatives and works closely with direct manager to ensure that any changes impacting the team are considered and addressed

º Provides support on internal and external audits.

º Maintains good working relationships with internal and external clients to better achieve the department's objectives

º Participates in special projects and carries out any other similar or general task at the request of their manager or that may be required by their function.

**Qualifications**:
º University Degree in a related field and 2 years of related experience in a similar environment; or, College Diploma and 3 to 5 years of related experience in a similar environment.

º Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.

º Solid knowledge of Visa, banking, deposits, Mortgage, Loans, Securities, and other lending or investment products.

º Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to communicate effectively with multiple partners across the Bank.

º Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and Outlook

º Familiarity with using large and complex financial database systems; ability to learn inquiry functions in back office processing systems such as FDR and SIBL are assets.

º Demonstrated ability in core and role specific competencies including teamwork, adaptability, customer service, innovation, and detail orientation.
