**Responsibilities**:
Please Note: This position is 50% clinical based and 50% administrative duties.
Reporting to, and guided by, the Manager & Clinical Director, Nova Scotia Operational Stress Injury Clinic (NSOSIC), or designate(s), the Clinical Team Lead applies therapeutic and practical knowledge to clients within the NSOSIC and is responsible for providing leadership to members of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of safe, effective, efficient, high-quality, client-centred care.
As an integral member of the Health Services Team, the Clinical Team Lead participates in the planning, development and provision of services and fosters the functional integration of NSOSI Clinic to ensure maximum access and inter-disciplinary collaboration is achieved within a caring, client-centred environment.
The Clinical Lead exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the NSOSIC, its National Network and the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.
The Clinical Lead will also perform other tasks or duties delegated by the Manager or Clinical Director.
**Qualifications**:
- Recognized Master’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work required.
- Current registration with the applicable legislated professional body required
- Three to five years' experience in clinical counselling and psychotherapy providing assessment and treatment to adults required
- Effective mentoring and clinical supervision skills to support both the academic role and the clinical practice of other team members
- Exceptional interpersonal coaching, mentoring and communication (listening, oral and written) skills
- Firm foundation in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) required
- Training in evidence-based therapies for PTSD, depression and anxiety disorders required; examples of these could be PE, CPT, EMDR, BA, MBSR
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary service delivery model is mandatory
- Experience in a military or police services environment is an asset
- Experience with assessment of police, veterans and/or Canadian forces members with operational stress injuries including anxiety, mood, and substance use is an asset
- Experience providing trauma focused therapy an asset
- Experience providing treatment in an outpatient community setting an asset
- Sensitivity to the unique needs of military/police services personnel who are experiencing service related mental health problems
- Knowledge of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices
- Commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement, Best Practices and Team Work
- The clinical team lead participates and leads quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives at the clinic
- Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and respect of appropriate and necessary methodologies and philosophies of Mental Health & Addictions
- Knowledge of Operational Stress Injury National Network (OSINN) guideline
**Additional Qualifications**:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of multi-systemic interventions for operational stress injuries
- Working knowledge and applied understanding of client centred principals
- Exemplary attendance and employment record in current and previous employment
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as managing multiple priorities, time sensitive deadlines, stressful situations, working flextible/extended hours and travelling with and outside the province as necessary
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
**Hours of Work**:
- Long Assignment, Full Time (100%) Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
- Approximately 18 months
**Salary Information**:
$43.50 - $50.72 hourly
