**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging, the Team Lead, DI Nuclear Medicine organizes and directly supervises the daily operations within these modalities and effectively communicates and collaborates to ensure the most effective, efficient and highest quality of care with other DI divisions as well as other IWK departments, to ensure DI services are managed with the patient’s and family’s needs as a priority.
- The Team Lead, Nuclear Medicine acts as resource and leader for staff in their specialty areas and exhibits leadership and sound professional judgement by:
- Collaborating with team members to ensure effective clinical operations on a day-to-day basis;
- Facilitating daily workflow (i.e., arranging replacements for staff illness and/or emergencies, etc.);
- Coordinating and supporting scheduling of patient exams in DI Nuclear Medicine to ensure that services are managed with the patient’s needs as a priority
- Being responsible for timekeeping/payroll, ordering supplies, resolving staff issues, staff scheduling, collecting workload data as required for stats;
- Acting as a liaison between the radiologists and clinical staff for new protocols and new procedures;
- Collaborating and consulting with DI management, identifying issues that have potential or actual impact on clinical care;
- Coordinating the maintenance and repair of equipment within the modalities, both routine and emergency, and adjusting scheduling accordingly;
- Evaluating workflow methods and procedures and taking measures to improve workflow issues in collaboration with management.

**Hours of Work**:
7.5 hour weekday shifts plus 24/7 call coverage nights, weekends and holidays.

**Your Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years of related clinical experience is required.
- Graduate of a recognized school of imaging technology is required.
- Licensed by the NS College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCIMRTP).
- Current Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal is required.
- Demonstrated effective decision making and sound problem-solving skills; ability to make independent technical decisions is required.
- Demonstrated personal commitment to ongoing relevant learning required.
- Previous leadership experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Conflict resolution skills an asset.
- Team building skills and experience working effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team an asset.
- Familiarity with PACS and HIS/RIS system an asset.
- Competency in a second language is an asset.
