We are expanding Long established Rental Department for Invermere Home Hardware Building Centre requires an experienced small engine mechanic. We specialize in tool and equipment rentals for home owners, contractors and trades in the Valley.

Ø Must be very versatile in many areas: threading pipe, screen and window repair, sharpening skates, knives, chainsaw blades, etc

Ø Inspect equipment/tools going out and coming in

Ø Adjust, repair or replace parts using hand tools and equipment

Ø Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment

Ø Maintain standards of cleanliness and organization inside shop and in rental compound

Ø Perform tasks in a timely, orderly and safe manner.

Ø This can be a physically demanding position, must be able to lift/handle equipment up to 50 individually

**Qualifications**:
Ø Experience with repairs of various equipment, tools and small engines

Ø Prefer Licensed Small Engine Repair Mechanic but not essential

Ø A real Handy-man with skills and aptitude for problem solving in a wide range of areas

Ø Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ø Must possess exceptional customer and personal service skills
- Performing preventive maintenance on all rental tools and equipment
- Maintain adequate inventory of parts for repair.
- Using information from manuals and vendors to help diagnose and trouble shoot problems.
- Cleaning, inspecting, and preparing tools for rental to customers.
- Ensuring tools are repaired and available for rental in a timely manner.
- Helping customers by providing information and answering questions
- Ensuring rental equipment is properly displayed, signed, and maintained.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of all rental tools and equipment
- Demonstrating working knowledge and/or hands-on experience with all rental tools and equipment
- Maintaining a high level of knowledge of all tools and equipment; including how to maintain, repair, order parts, proper usage, etc.
- Analyzing information to recognize potential problems, identifying causes of equipment problems (loose parts, misuse by customers, etc.) and proposing solutions.
- Providing outstanding customer service
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and make necessary repairs on customer’s equipment or tools. This includes but is not limited to Lawnmowers, Chainsaws, Generators, Lawn and Garden equipment, etc.
- Assemble floor model product such as BBQ’s, Lawn and Garden equipment, Chainsaw’s, etc.
