The Peel District School Board (PDSB) is a racially, culturally and linguistically diverse board that serves 155,000+ students and approximately 17,000 employees. The workforce consists of teachers, office staff, custodial staff, education assistants and professional staff. Position Overview
Reporting to Assistant Controller Maintenance Services, the successful applicant will help within the Maintenance Department with various initiatives. Responsibilities will include: (as outlined in the General Duties section)
General Duties
Update floor plans/site plans to indicate various initiatives undertaken by the department
Coordinate Capital Project requests
Coordinate existing databases within the Maintenance department for various Ministry and departmental initiatives, i.e.: Filter changes, standalone HEPA filters, boilers, backflow prevention systems, roofs, cooling stations, etc.
Utilize existing database to verify/validate project specific information for projects funded by school condition improvement, school renewal allocation and school operations allocation
Help coordinate the archiving of drawings, specifications and close out documents for all Board projects
Help with filing as required (hardcopies and softcopies on share point)
Perform other duties, as assigned, which are related to the major responsibilities of the job
Education and Experience Requirements
Grade 12 education in addition to several years of related experience in progressively responsible positions.
Post-secondary education in business administration is an asset
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills to interact with all stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership, initiative, organization, planning and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work with team and with limited supervision
Solid analytical and research skills with demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and meet timelines
