To provide trauma-informed support to the Canada Connects Program through volunteer recruitment, matching, follow-ups, volunteer training, special events, special initiatives, and administrative support, with a focus on providing support to survivors of trauma among the newcomer population.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Coordinate volunteer matching program to support refugees and their families in collaboration with Canada Connects, with a special focus on refugees affected by trauma
- Facilitate individual and family intakes and collaboratively assess client needs relating to support to heal from trauma
- Recruit, orient, and match volunteers who will support refugee families
- Provide client orientations and complete intakes with Government Assisted Refugees at CCIS to provide early intervention in mental health supports
- Work closely with Canada Connects program team to provide general program support regarding special events, training, client/volunteer orientations, matching, etc.
- Support with training for volunteers relating to trauma
- Provide on-going follow-up and support to volunteers and refugees affected by trauma throughout their match
- Coordinate mental health and community support services according to the needs identified by the clients
- Provide ongoing case management, referrals, assessment, and interventions
- Liaise with team therapists to support the needs of shared clients
- Coordinate and participate in case conferences as needed
- Work with community partners to support refugees and their families
- Work collaboratively with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team within CCIS
- Practice personal self-care and support the needs of team members
- Complete evaluation and reporting of program activities that fit all funder outcomes and indicators as outlined by the Program Manager

**Qualifications**:

- Degree or equivalent in social work, social sciences or related fields
- Knowledge of and experience with cultural diversity
- Creativity and good organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to plan, implement activities and evaluate success
- Ability to work effectively on a team and with all stakeholders
- Ability to deal positively with challenges
- Knowledge of Calgary community
- Volunteer management training and experience an asset
- A second language an asset
