**About New Westminster Community Action Team**:
On December 1, 2017 the Ministry of Mental Health and Addictions launched an Overdose Emergency Response Centre (OERC). The goal of the OERC is to spearhead urgent action at the community level to prevent further deaths and to support people using substances to access evidence-based harm reduction and substance use treatment where appropriate.

The purpose of the New Westminster Overdose Community Action Team (NW CAT) is to act as a platform for collaboration, discussion and decision-making related to the opioid overdose response within the City of New Westminster. The work of the NW CAT is guided by eight objectives outlined by the OERC.

The Project Coordinator will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to plan committee meetings, task groups and/or program initiatives. The coordinator will develop plans and strategies, report on progress, support evaluation processes, and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

**Key Deliverables**
- Facilitation of monthly NWOCAT meetings, and coordination of project activities
- Work closely with Peer Network to support meaningful engagement of persons with lived and living experience of substance use
- Implementation of the NWOCAT Anti-Stigma Campaign
- Assist with the development of a Toolkit for Peer Engagement practices
- Progress reports to funders, including Vancouver Foundation and CAI

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Coordinate monthly CAT meetings e.g. prepare agendas and other materials, send meeting invitations, take minutes, maintain membership list
- Ensure smooth implementation of NW CAT projects according to budget and timeline
- Ensure the CAT is meeting OERC objectives, and submit progress reports to the OERC as required
- Ensure all projects are on track and achieving planned outcomes, where there are delays/risks raising them to the CAT in a timely manner
- Maintain and facilitate new partnerships
- Identify additional funding for the implementation of opioid overdose related projects by writing and submitting grant proposals

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Experience working with diverse populations and multiple community partners including people with lived and living experience with substance use
- Working knowledge of project management methodology and/or project planning
- Demonstrated skills in cultural safety, compassion, inclusion, and respectful engagement
- Experience managing projects and delivering outcomes on time and within budget
- Working knowledge of program evaluation methodologies
- Experience facilitating multi-stakeholder collaborative initiatives
- Experience writing and submitting grant proposals
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Public Health, Social Services, Applied Science, Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Three years related experience in project management, community development and engagement, population health, community capacity building, program evaluation, community health and well-being, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Must be available on evenings and weekends as needed
- Criminal Record Check is required
