**About Pottery Works & River Market**

Pottery Works and River Market are studio and gallery spaces located in New Westminster BC, sponsored by the CLS. A collective of talented painters, potters, photographers and jewelers create original works of art for exhibition and sale. Some of the Pottery Works & River Market artists receive support; others attend independently; each inspiring one another to reach their artistic aspirations. Working artists provide instruction for those who want to improve their skills and talents. The artists of Pottery Works & River Market, exhibit their work at art shows and galleries around the Lower Mainland.

**About the Opportunity**

Your role as a Pottery Works & River Market Community Living Counsellor, Assistant Coordinator will be to provide support to the Coordinator in all aspects of administration and team leadership. You will work closely with the team to provide meaningful feedback and role-model Person-Centered Active Supports. You will play an active role in the day to day support needs of the individuals attending Pottery Works & River Market. Some of your duties can include:
**_Support _**
- Supporting individuals with creating pottery, paintings, photography and jewelry and help with the day to day flow of the studios
- Supporting individuals with their various artistic goals
- Maintaining and reviewing records of daily activities and goal progression of supported individuals
- Support individuals in venturing into the community with their work and periodically setting up shows and sales

**_Leadership _**
- Mentoring and providing feedback to a team of counselors
- Coaching, role-modeling and mentoring your team in appropriate support techniques
- Actively participating training of new hires
- Maintaining a strong relationship with all supported individual and families
- Attend all leadership training, development opportunities as required

**_Administration_**
- Supporting the Coordinator with administrative tasks such as admin reviews, quarterly reports, Sharevision audits and PCAS training
- Supporting the administration needs of Pottery Works & River Market including social media, accountabilities, and business operations
- Assisting the Coordinator with scheduling and filling relief shifts
- Supporting the Coordinator with interviews and meetings including but limited to the individuals, their families, CLBC and other agencies

**About You**

Your experience in providing sound, consistent, resourceful and creative support to adults with disabilities coupled with your leadership and management skills will enable you to flourish in this role. You are motivated by enabling individuals in achieving greater success in certain areas of their lives by providing skills and opportunities to develop, participate in their community, take part in community activities, obtain volunteer or paid employment and learn tasks of daily living. You will also meet other unique support needs including personal care.

Additionally, you have the following requirements:
**_Required:_**:

- Class 5 driver’s license (permanent staff must be willing to obtain Class 4)
- Access to a vehicle
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Clear criminal record (paid by CLS)
- Clean driver’s abstract

**_Assets:_**:

- Prior paid or volunteer experience
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training
- Mandt System®
- Previous leadership experience
- Knowledge of Person Centered Active Supports
