Foodbank and Volunteer Coordinator

**Job Overview**
Gleaners Food Bank is a non-profit organization that provides food, resources and hope to people who are hungry in the Quinte region with a vision of a community that is hungry no more. We are seeking a full-time Foodbank and Volunteer Coordinator.
This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Foodbank and Michelangelo’s Café. The Foodbank and Volunteer Coordinator is expected to recruit, interview, orient, train and oversee the activities of all Gleaners Foodbank volunteers, as well as provide administrative and other support to warehouse operations and special events. In addition, this person is responsible for maintaining an up-to-date list of community resources for clients and maintaining the Foodbank’s client database. This position is also responsible for health and safety within the facility.
The Foodbank and Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations (DOO).
**Essential Functions**:
1. Supervises daily stock orders to ensure continuous supplies of food and specialty items for daily operations.
2. Coordinates deliveries and pickups of food; assists to network surplus foods to partner agencies.
3. Administers client database and maintains essential records for clients and volunteers.
4. Recruits, trains, supervises, and supports all volunteers in the organization.
5. Oversees health and safety staff training, response to incidents, and record-keeping.
6. Provides facility tours and attends special events or community meetings as required.

**Qualifications**:
1. Three or more years of experience, preferably in volunteer management/leadership.
2. Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office platform; ability to provide and/or obtain technical support as issues arise.
5. Superior written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
6. Up-to-date Canadian Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector).
7. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (with own vehicle).
