Your role
- Advise Commercial Banking managers on real estate risk management best practices and, if necessary, suggest suitable financing alternatives to enable loans to be granted
- Establish effective and harmonious working relationships with Commercial Banking managers and work in partnership to provide a high level of service
- Promptly identify deteriorations in credit risk and, if necessary, recommend that these loans be transferred to the Special Loans team in order to minimize potential loan losses
- Help draw up and/or revise policies, standards and procedures for granting real estate financing

Required skills
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 7 years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree in a related field plus 5 years of relevant experience
- Sound knowledge of the commercial real estate sector and grasp of traditional financing methods for industrial, commercial and office properties
- Experience in commercial credit
- Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly do business with partners across Canada

Preferred skills
- Ability to quickly identity major potential risks and suggest appropriate risk reduction solutions
- Ability to negotiate and resolve complex credit risk issues
- Knowledge of the multi-residential real estate financing sector, an asset
- Experience in banking, an asset
