We are seeking a chief medical officer for our medical department to provide leadership for our physicians and collaborate with Millard Health leadership on service standards and innovation. Our physicians are part of multi-disciplinary teams of health care professionals and provide assessment and rehabilitation services to individuals with a variety of medical conditions, which include a large component of musculoskeletal injuries.

Your responsibilities:

- Maintain awareness of current trends and provide leadership in the field of medicine.
- Ensure medical profession and contractual standards are met in our medical assessments.
- Complete peer reviews and feedback to physicians on a regular basis to ensure high-quality medical assessments and reporting standards are met.
- Act as a consultant to the Millard Health leadership regarding matters of professional practice and liaises with the provincial licensing body, as appropriate.
- Mentors and onboards new staff on expectations.
- Respond to customer service issues and provide timely feedback to physicians.
- Perform medical assessment to assess workplace injuries and medical conditions.
- Request investigations and consultations.
- Prepare reports and provide recommendations in accordance with the needs of the referral source.
- Liaise with University and act as a resident program coordinator for occupational medicine residents.

Your experience and skills:

- Experience in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injures.
- Have an active rehabilitation treatment philosophy, combined with recent experience in General or Specialty practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to use electronic communication tools and general computer knowledge.
- Experience as a medical doctor is required with experience in the field of occupational health, rehabilitation medicine or orthopedic medicine is preferred.
- Previous facilitating and mentoring experience are an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership skills is an asset.
