This position is part of the staff team and supports the ministries of Okotoks United Church (“OUC”) and St. Andrew’s United Church (“SAUC”) by organizing the church office and files, scheduling and coordinating building use, creating a welcoming and caring environment for visitors, acting as communications liaison, assisting in policy and procedures matters and financial administration, providing weekly assistance for worship and limited administrative assistance to the church team (ministry personnel and boards), resolving problems and working with staff and others to contribute to the effective organization and records of OUC and SAUC.

**Specific Duties**:

- Acts as first contact for people entering the OUC building, creating a welcoming, caring environment for visitors including those needing pastoral care or assistance
- Organizes and maintains church office files, records, registers and statistics
- Schedules and coordinates building and facility use
- Assists in the financial administration of OUC
- Creates the PowerPoint file for weekly worship services
- Website Administrator
- Liaises and communicates in a respectful manner with staff, contractors, boards, members of the congregation, visitors and the community-at-large to assist in the effective and efficient operation of the church
- Alerts Maintenance Committee to problems that require attention
- Assists and supports the ministries and the ministry team as requested
- Recruits and supervises administrative volunteers
- Maintains office and church supplies

**Qualification and Skills**:

- Minimum of 2 years related work experience
- Strong organizational and coordinating skills, initiative, and creativity in problem
- solving
- Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)
- Computer skills including proficiency at word processing and data entry, as well as a knowledge and technical understanding of office equipment. Working knowledge of Power Church, Power Point, website software, Media Shout as well as Microsoft Office programs or a willingness to learn special programs as needed.
- Mathematical aptitude; willingness to work with accounting programs
- Understanding of church image, discretion, tact and the need for confidentiality
- Team worker with the ability to work well with staff, volunteers, boards, committees, and others
- This position requires a Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Certificate.

**Reporting Accountability**:
The Office and Facilities Administrator is an employee of Okotoks United Church and reports to the congregation through the Ministry and Personnel Committee (a committee of the Board). The position is supervised in daily work by the minister(s). Reimbursement, benefits and deductions are according to The United Church of Canada policies and other employment laws and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 25 per week

**Salary**: $22.50-$24.50 per hour
