**POSITION TITLE**:Direct Support Professional

**CLASSIFICATION**:DSW 2

**SALARY**:$64, 459.20 to $66, 185.60 per year plus applicable benefits

**HOURS**:40 hours per week **TYPE OF ADVERTISEMENT**: Permanent

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**:
**EDUCATION**:

- DSW Diploma, successful completion of the DSW Apprenticeship program, CYW Diploma, BA in a related field, or proven equivalency by an accredited college or university

**OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Valid G class driver’s licence is required
- Proof of minimum 2 doses of the Covid 19 Vaccine
- Current Vulnerable Sector Search (within 12 months)
- Driver's abstract (within 3 months)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification an asset
- Current CPI certification an asset

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Substantial experience in supporting people with developmental disabilities, aggressive behavioural challenges and Autism
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing NVCI (CPI) techniques
- Previous experience working with families in the planning and delivery of supports
- Experience in following and facilitating Individual Support Plans in cooperation with Support
- Networks
- Experience in providing personal care and knowledge of using lifts
- Demonstrated experience in utilizing computer and the AIMS database
- Experience in administering and managing medications
- Knowledge and experience with adaptive communication

**ABILITY, SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- Ability to complete basic household duties including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Demonstrated ability to follow and create menu plans
- Ability to participate in activities that reflect individualized interests
- Ability to show innovative and progressive attitude with a commitment to the enhancement of
