Sessional Lecturer III: $20,725.52

Sessional Lecturer III, Long Term: $21,140.03

**Minimum qualifications**:

- A PhD in Italian Studies or equivalent is required.
- Native or near native proficiency in Italian is required.
- Demonstrable and proven skills in explaining grammar concepts clearly and concisely with relevant Italian examples are required.
- Demonstrable and proven skills in describing and explaining Italian cultural items with relevant comparison to the North American cultural milieu are required.
- Some previous experience in teaching Italian language for beginners is required.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- extended and demonstrated excellence in teaching, and designing, language courses in a variety of academic contexts is preferred.
- experience teaching language courses online is preferred.
- Previous experience in teaching similar courses or equivalent is preferred.

**Description of duties**: Duties include course preparation and delivery of course content; designing and preparing tests, assignments, and exams, in collaboration with the course coordinator and other instructors in the course; marking written and oral assignments, tests, and exams in accordance to shared grading rubrics and in accordance with university regulations; calculating and submitting grades; holding regular office hours; and attending course administrative meetings as required. Also required is the ability to produce effective instructional videos for the use of students in the course.
