**Job Summary**

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day coordination of the Ocean and Air departmental activities for Import/Export operations. They will ensuring operational excellence, high productivity, and customer satisfaction.

The Supervisor will aid the Department Manager by ensuring departmental team members are trained, competent and consistently perform to regulatory, company and customer policies and procedures within our quality and performance standards. In addition to the day-to-day oversight of these standards, they will aid the departmental Manager in individual team member performance reviews, coaching, training, and development.

As the department Supervisor, visiting and engaging customers and vendors will be required as well as sharing on call duties, monitoring and reporting of customer and vendor performance, holiday, and absence coverage (including Dept. Manager).

They will act as the first general escalation point for internal and external customers and ensure escalations to the department manager or other management is done timely and efficiently to ensure customer or operational requests/issues are managed effectively.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Supervise, train, coach, and lead team members in daily operations
- Coordinate, delegate and monitor the daily activities of team members and the department
- Assist team members and aid Department Manager as needed.
- Identity, Review and Resolve customer issues
- Coordination and communicate with customers, network, vendors for aspects related to the successful completion of awarded shipments
- Process shipments using the designated departmental operating system
- Prepare departmental quotations and/or ensure quotations are generated within departmental/customer KPI
- Prepare customer invoices and/or ensure customer invoices are generated as quoted and within KPI
- Monitor and ensure company standards and procedures are maintained by the department and departmental team members
- Maintain and ensure departmental SOPs are up to date and department/departmental team members are using most current SOP’s
- Review and update customer profiles
- Contribute to weekly & monthly reports and prepare /submit complex rate requests and RFQs before deadlines
- Audit vendors’ invoices and investigate outstanding invoices when necessary
- Lead continuous improvement initiative to drive operational excellence and cost saving
- Various other duties as may be required

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of principles and methods of moving goods by air and ocean, specifically imports
- Ability to provide quality service for our customers by understanding their needs and requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Solid project management skills are essential
- Team leadership and teambuilding abilities; able to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and vendors
- Strong time management; able to prioritize tasks
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of customs procedures
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word
- Some knowledge of basic HR principles
