**Role**:
**Are you an Insurance Industry Professional who is looking for a new challenging role? Are you able to multi-task and prioritize work in a busy fast-paced environment? As an Insurance Compliance Officer, you will:

- Conduct timely and impartial investigations of complaints involving alleged violations of insurance legislation and make recommendations for regulatory action.
- Evaluate the scope, issues and jurisdiction of the complaint. You must be able to multi-task and cope with a large volume of work in a busy office environment.
- Leverage your insurance expertise to provide accurate and timely insurance advice to department officials and government members, including requests for insurance information and statistics, correspondence and briefings for Senior and Elected Officials; or review and recommend changes to insurance forms and documents.
- Conduct field examinations by reviewing insurer records/processes for compliance, in order to identify deficiencies and notify insurers of review results.

You need to have strong analytical and problem solving skills, and your strengths include the ability to prioritize and support good regulatory decisions. You understand that working collaboratively within the team and building positive relationships with stakeholders will support success in the role. Strong writing skills are very important in this role.

**Qualifications**:
A university graduation in a related field and a minimum 2 years progressively responsible related experience in Financial services, Insurance Industry or Financial Regulatory required. In-depth knowledge and experience in life insurance is preferred.

**Equivalency**
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

The following are considered assets:

- Knowledge of, and experience in the insurance industry, including property and casualty and/or life insurance or experience with an insurance regulator would be considered an asset.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), or other insurance education.
- Experience in financial regulations and market conduct.

**Salary**:
$2,588.06 to $3,397.76 bi-weekly ($67,548 - $88,681/year)
