**The Opportunity**

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Planning & Development Department in a Term position as a Safety Codes Compliance Administrator.

Reporting to the Manager, Building Inspections, this position will be responsible for maintaining and administering the compliance records for the Building Inspection Services team, as well as issuing safety codes permits and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The key responsibilities will include:

- Compiling lists of permits requiring follow up or administrative action, notifying applicants of expiration, documenting actions in the City’s permitting software and scheduling as well as scheduling inspections.
- providing general administrative support to members of the compliance team, including the manager and Safety Codes Officers
- Developing and maintaining compliance monitoring action list
- Providing administrative support to the Building Inspection Services team, including scheduling, and managing inspection appointment and services.

**Qualifications**
- Office Administration Certificate combined with Two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Permit Issuer designation (required within 30 days of employment.)
- Prior municipal experience in the safety codes field is an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Teams.
- Excellent organizational and communication skill.
- Familiar with the Safety Codes Act (SCA) and the City’s Quality Management Plan (QMP)

**Hours of Work**

We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly, Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 5:00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE

**Compensation**

$55,244 - $65,985 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
