**Brief Overview**:
The Métis Nation-Saskatchewan Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language is seeking a strong team player, committed to quality service to carry out objectives of the Department of Culture, Heritage, and Language and to provide a range of services as a Program Coordinator - Culture, Heritage, and Language. This position reports to the Manager of Culture, Heritage and Language and is based at the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon, SK.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead MN-S Culture and Language projects or programs
- Plan and develop Cultural and Language programs and services.
- Plan and support the development of Language/Culturally based programs.
- Preparing planning and educational documents and resources
- Providing direction to early learning teams on the planning, development, and implementation of effective programs
- Develop Briefing Notes for department and provincial discussions.
- Maintaining and cataloging resources for distribution
- Coordinating workshops or conferences on topics with resource personnel
- Designing and preparing program content, determining format, and arranging for resource distribution
- Prepare and provide ongoing program support and data to ensure successful project delivery and administration.
- Serving on committees as required
- Prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on early learning and education.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with early learning and education service providers across the province.
- Evaluate resources, advise on implementation, and research outcomes of new or existing programs.
- Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Manager Culture, Heritage and Language

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in education, Business, Administration, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience working with Indigenous, including Métis, clients.
- The ability to understand or speak the Michif Language is an asset.

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of Métis culture.
- Knowledge of the Michif Language.
- Strong communication skills including speaking, writing, and active listening skills.
- Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Word, Excel, database software, electronic communication tools such as Microsoft Outlook).
- Strong time-management skills along with the ability to prioritize daily tasks, organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
- Willingness to work within a team environment.
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
- Excellent work attendance.
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills as well as attention to detail.
- Interpersonal skills and an ability to demonstrate de-escalation and conflict resolution in difficult situations.

**Additional Requirements**:

- The position is based on a 37.5-hour work week Monday through Friday and includes a comprehensive total rewards package.
- A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to our downtown location would be required.
