Edmonton, Canada A Link Therapy Full time

**Job description**

Two positions available at this time. This is not a full time job.

1. north west Edmonton: 2 days a week for 2 hours Tuesday and Wed 5 to 7. In the summer this could change to days if you wanted.. For 11 months. Other positions can be obtained

2, spruce grove ; evening or /and weekend

3. Stony plan ; evening or/and weekend

Developmental aid position: The person would work

**Must have ability to use and make visuals for visual task lists and visual schedules**

Understanding of sensory seeking, sensory regulation, and positive engagement strategies. Behavioral support. Non-violent intervention courses is an asset.

Use of visuals (schedule/dressing strips/first-next), core board and AAC is an asset.

Guidance to ensure follow through of recommendations would be given by the Occupational Therapist, Speech therapist, Behavioral Therapist possibly Psychologist.

Strong skills with a positive behavioral approach.

You need strong skills using and making visual schedule. As well as understanding and ability to implement a sensory diet using heavy work movement strategies.

You need to be physically active

- **A-Link Therapy**_ is looking for educational/behavioral assistance to work with families in their home to implement speech language, occupational therapy and behavioral therapy strategies.

**You will need**
- a current criminal record and vulnerability check
- need reliable transport
- be accountable and a ongoing learner
- having experience working with children with autism using regulation (heavy work) and behavioral strategies
- you will have ongoing support to learn and implement strategies with the family

Reliable. This is a part time position that has flexibility in hours; however must be reliable

**First opportunity is in Edmonton**

COVID-19 considerations:=

1. hand sanitizer and hand washing

3. All toys and items to be appropriately sanitized

**Requirements**:

- reliable transportation
- Current clear criminal and vulnerability record check. Reimbursement for records check would occur with success of 1 month probation.
- Be very physically active and creative. Be willing to play in the snow, play at the park summer and winter, go swimming if appropriate.
- Willing to learn and implement strategies in a fun and safe way.
- Need to bring craft and toy items
- A calm disposition is needed.
- Be reliable and able to complete documentation for each visit. Training would be provided.
- You do need to have your own vehicle to be able to transport self to places.
- Having experience working with children on the spectrum would be an asset.
- You must be accountable and follow COVID 19 precautions.
- There is no cell phone for personal use during work hours, any use of profanity is prohibited, use of any rough or restraints is prohibited.
- Love working with people who are from a variety of cultures and using a play approach to help children learn and grow is a must.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 3 per week
