**Description**
The Staffing & Training Coordinator ensures that Tuhk Sih Nowin Youth Shelter’s schedule is in compliance with all agency policies and meets all contractual obligations. They are responsible for organizing and scheduling staff at the Shelter and maintaining daily records of hours worked, requests for leave/time off, and current vacancies. Working closely with management they will identify training requirements and develop and implement training plans for new and existing employees. The Staffing & Training Coordinator will be responsible for tracking and scheduling core training in addition to reviewing and revising Shelter training and procedural manuals. They will be tasked with working closely with the PCT and Sr Director of Youth Services to ensure all training and manuals are consistent with youth centred care and are in alignment with the strength based approaches supported by SCP.
This role initially will work with the Tuhk Sih Nowin shelter, however may be expanded to include all Community Care and Support areas.
**Duties & Responsibilities (Outcomes to be monitored quarterly)**
- Set up and maintain SCP’s scheduling platform/module
- Review schedules and correct errors as required
- Publish schedules in accordance with SCP policy and procedure
- Ensure daily schedules meet labour standards and scheduling best practices
- Coordinate schedules, time off requests, and availability with support from Case Managers & Directors
- Maintain daily records including staff availability, hours worked, absenteeism, tardiness, requests for leave/time off, and vacancies
- Schedule and track core and required training
- Modify schedules to meet training needs and ensure adequate staffing levels at all times
- Consistently train new and current employees on platforms, processes, and procedures
- Provide feedback on new/current staff training and proficiency to case managers/director
- Review Shelter processes to ensure they are youth centred, trauma informed, in in alliance with nurtured heart
- Connect regularly with the Shelter case management team for input, insight.
- Establish competency assessment for staff temporarily assuming/covering higher level roles and associated compensation
- Monthly check ins with Senior Director of Youth Services
**Requirements**:
- College or university preferred
- Knowledge and Experience in
- Human services, youth services (frontline ideal), and non profit organisations
